Christmas 2009

We had so much fun at Christmas this year.  One of the main reasons I wanted to move downstairs was to have room to entertain.  We were able to fit our family upstairs for dinner, but everyone had to eat in the living room and some had to sit on the floor.  Although our little tree house was the perfect size for Ben and I as newlyweds, it just wasn't the most comfortable for entertaining.  Ever since deciding to move downstairs, one of our big plans was to have my family spend the weekend for Christmas.  With two little nephews, we thought this would be a blast!  Everyone came over on my birthday (12/23) and spent the night that night as well as Christmas Eve.  With the snow storm it turned out perfect so we were "snowed in".  We went to dinner at Outback for my b-day then came home and let Bray open 1 present.

He was sooo excited about the sleepover and kept saying over and over that he gets to spend the whole night over.  And we would remind him that it was actually 2 nights and 2 1/2 days!  On Christmas Eve we all got up and had a big waffle and sausage breakfast, soups for lunch and our big turkey/ham dinner after the Christmas Eve service at church.

Then we opened presents as is our family tradition.  On Christmas day, we woke up to pancakes and bacon, then had a yummy lunch and spent the afternoon watching movies.

Ang & I took a walk in the fresh snow...it was beautiful.

Everyone left that evening.  Of course it went way too fast...but we had so much fun and have so many memories that will last a lifetime.
